a deafening silence, a blinding darkness

been a while since I’ve logged in to my tumblarrrr so I gonna keep this brief. been refining my drawing style and changing it up a bit to be more stylized and less anime-inspired. while I dig the anime look I was doing and find it natural I think I can do better and draw influence from more than just simplicity for simplicity-sake.

that being said I have also decided to put my already 60+ pages of “the shambling dead” (which was the working title for a slice of life/comedy satire on the zombie fad) on hold to do something more personal and reflective - and also not as long. the 60 pages of script would’ve easily turned in to over 300 pages and while that’s awesome it’s too long for a first effort as that would’ve only been volume 1 of 2 or 3. so time to do something realistic and more focused.

i think i am going to focus mainly on the music scene i grew up around, that shaped me and focus on my attitude when i entered it. i have an idea and i’m pretty excited about it.

apart from that i’ve been beavering away at some new music for my final band after “we, the sentinel” - it’s as crazy, as hectic, as energetic and choc-full of experiments and time signature changes as I could logically go without being too conservative.

here’s the instrumental pre-pro we threw together; the working title is “patience is a prison, warden” -

Patience PRE PRO by andy by manvsdead

anyways; that’s it for now. I will endeavour to update this more often.

Entered this in to a competition. Figured I may as well put it here too.

This one is for the MMO addicts out there.
Life sucks just as much in-game as it does IRL. I mean hanging out in any virtual city is just bizzare. It’d be strange if I were to just stand around in the middle of the city I live in crafting random objects shouting “WILLING TO BUY STACKS OF COPPER BARS!” - yet in a virtual world that makes sense. Because people like to shout a lot in towns… probably from being drunk at all those inns they frequent.
I guess that’s why it’s awesome having an overhead health bar - the ability to shout at anyone and everything about your wares regardless of the setting you’re in.

I like to kill people. This doesn’t mean I’m a murderer! I just take a bit of joy in going head to head with another opponent. If we did what we do in videogames IRL I’m sure there would be more people in jail (or gaol down here in Australia) then there would be free persons.
Killing people in games is fun. But it’s just a game and a LOT of us know that - but then there are the crazys and they’re a special, unique, and rare breed. Violent video games promotes just as much violence as kids cartoons do.
Besides - we’re animals! It’s in our blood to be violent! We may as well vent that natural need for hunting and killing in a virtual world where nobody is hurt. Saying you like killing people and remembering fondly the time you gutted some guy out of context though - that’s kinda awkward.
